Is this safe for my fish?
The Treat Ball is made from BPA-Free Acrylic, with Food-Grade Silicone plugs and a Polypropylene float cap. It is compatible with both fresh and saltwater setups. We recommend supervising your fish's first interaction and only use with appropriately sized species.
What fish is this designed for?
Our Treat Ball was designed and tested with goldfish and works well for other similarly sized community fish. That said, it's not intended for very small or delicate species (. Just like cats, dogs, or any other pet, fish have their own personalities — some are naturally curious and will investigate a new object right away, while others take more time to warm up, and a few may simply never be interested. We recommend giving your fish a little time to discover it at their own pace and reach out to us if you'd like tips on encouraging first interaction.
How should I introduce the product to my fish?
Every fish is different, but most fish begin investigating the ball within the first few days. When first introducing the product, use foods that are small and easily dispended from the holes. This gives your fish the best chance to make the connection between ball and food. Once your fish starts understanding the toy, we recommend implementing the plugs to make it more challenging. :)
Does the Treat ball work with Betta's?
Through multiple different test trials, we do not recommend this product for Betta owners. We have seen that they tend to show little interest, probably a diva thing....
Stay tuned though because we have some Betta toys in the works! :)
